Overview and comparison

What are T profile timing pulleys?
T profile timing pulleys are metric synchronous pulleys with a trapezoidal tooth form — T5 (pitch 5 mm) and T10 (pitch 10 mm). Unlike HTD (rounded tooth), the T profile has a steeper trapezoidal tooth, suited to precision positioning drives at low to medium loads. Widely used in automation, office machines and light industry.
Made from aluminium UNI 9006-T6 with pilot bore, supplied pre-bored and machined to shaft diameter at installation.

What is the difference between T5 and T10?
T5: pitch 5 mm — smaller pulleys, lower torque, precision drives. T10: pitch 10 mm — larger dp at same tooth count, higher torque, more load-resistant.
Can T profile pulleys be used with HTD belts?
No — T5 belts are NOT compatible with HTD 5M belts despite identical metric pitch. Tooth profiles differ. Mixing profiles causes damage.
How is dp calculated?
dp = (z × p) / π. T5, 20 teeth: dp = (20×5)/π = 31.83 mm. T10, 20 teeth: dp = (20×10)/π = 63.66 mm.
Can the pulleys be bored to a specific diameter?
Yes — supplied with a pilot bore, machined to the required size. nibora@nibora.com, +359 64 681 058.
