What is a SIMOTOP three-phase asynchronous electric motor?
The SIMOTOP MS series three-phase asynchronous electric motor is a standard industrial motor with aluminium or cast iron housing, manufactured to IEC standard. The SIMOTOP motor range is available in efficiency classes IE1 and IE2 — single-speed (2P, 4P, 6P, 8P poles) and double-speed versions with dual winding (MSD series). Mounting types B3, B5 and B14.
The MS series is among the most widely used three-phase induction motors in the region — reliable construction, standard IEC frame dimensions and full interchangeability with any other manufacturer.

Who are these electric motors for?
- Machine manufacturers — pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, mixers
- Food and beverage industry — three-phase motors for conveyors, dosing systems, mixers
- Mining and construction — hoists, conveyors, concrete mixers
- Grain processing and agricultural machinery — grain cleaners, dryers, ventilation fans
- Any industrial application requiring a reliable three-phase asynchronous motor

How does a three-phase asynchronous motor work?
Three-phase voltage (380V / 690V) in the stator creates a rotating magnetic field that induces currents in the rotor, generating torque. The motor is asynchronous — the rotor spins slightly slower than the field (slip). No brushes or commutators — maintenance is limited to periodic bearing lubrication.
IE2 efficiency class consumes 2–5% less electricity than IE1 at equal power — at over 4000 operating hours per year the difference pays back within 1–3 years.

What is the difference between IE1 and IE2 electric motors?
IE2 (high efficiency) consumes 2–5% less energy at the same power. Mandatory for motors above 0.75 kW in the EU since 2011.
What do 2P, 4P, 6P, 8P poles mean?
2P ≈ 2800 rpm | 4P ≈ 1400 rpm | 6P ≈ 900 rpm | 8P ≈ 720 rpm at 50 Hz.
What does IP54 protection mean?
Protection against dust (5) + water splashes from all directions (4). IP55 adds protection against water jets.
How to select the correct three-phase asynchronous motor?
1. Power (kW) · 2. Speed (poles) · 3. Mounting B3/B5/B14 · 4. Voltage 230/400V or 400/690V · 5. Efficiency class IE1 or IE2
Are double-speed motors available?
Yes — MSD series: 2/4P (2800/1400 rpm), 4/8P (1400/720 rpm), 4/6P (1400/900 rpm).
