What are standard roller chains

Standard roller chains transmit torque between two parallel shafts via chain engagement with toothed wheels (sprockets). Nibora Ltd. offers two international standards — European (DIN 8187/ISO 606) and American (DIN 8188/ASA), each in simplex (one row of rollers), duplex (two rows) and triplex (three rows) versions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the European and American standard?

The two standards use different size numbering (e.g. 08B-1 vs 40-1) and slightly different tolerances. The choice depends on compatibility with the machine's existing drive (sprockets).

What do simplex, duplex, triplex mean?

The number of parallel roller rows in the chain - more rows means higher load capacity at the same size.

What is the price of standard chains?

Contact Nibora Ltd. for a quote based on the size and standard you need.
