What are racks
A rack is a straight bar with teeth that, when meshed with a gear, converts rotary motion into linear motion (and vice versa) — the principle used in linear actuators, gantry systems and positioning mechanisms. The mating gear must share the same module and pressure angle as the rack.
Nibora Ltd. keeps racks for continuous mounting in stock, made from C45 material, 20° pressure angle, in modules from 1 to 6 and standard lengths of 500, 1000 and 2000 mm.

Which rack length should I choose?
The rack length (500, 1000 or 2000 mm) is chosen based on the required travel of the linear drive; for a longer travel, several racks can be mounted in sequence (continuous mounting), which is why the exact pitch length is listed separately from the nominal length.
Why does module 4 come in two different B×ha profiles?
Module 4 covers two different cross-section profiles (30x30 mm and 40x40 mm) with different ho height — the choice depends on the required rack strength relative to the specific mating gear.
