What is a tyre coupling
A tyre coupling (Periflex or Flexal type) is a flexible coupling where two metal hubs are joined by a torus-shaped rubber tyre element, bolted to the outer diameter of each hub. The rubber tyre absorbs shock loads and vibration between the driving and driven shaft while compensating for small angular, radial and axial misalignment.
Nibora Ltd. stocks a range of sizes — from F40 to F120 — for various applications. Sizes from F140 to F250 can be supplied to order.

Frequently asked questions
What applications suit a tyre coupling?
Drives with frequent starts/stops, shock loads or vibration — pumps, fans, compressors, conveyor belts, mixers — anywhere damping is needed without complex maintenance.
What misalignment does it compensate?
The rubber tyre compensates small angular, radial and axial misalignment between shafts, without additional centring elements.
What is the price of a tyre coupling?
