What is a Giflex (GE) coupling
The Giflex coupling (GE series) is an elastic coupling with two cast-iron hubs featuring projecting jaws, between which a star-shaped elastic element (spider) is fitted. The design absorbs shock and vibration while compensating for small shaft misalignment.
Each size is available in two bore forms — standard (form A) and extended (form B) — sharing the same standard bore range but with a different maximum bore diameter (form B), for more flexibility in shaft selection.
